A two week CPD investigating Problem Solving Therapy
Problem-solving therapy aims to help individuals adopt a realistically optimistic view of coping, understand the role of emotions more effectively, and creatively develop an action plan geared to reduce psychological distress and enhance well-being. Interventions include psycho-education, interactive problem-solving exercises, and motivational homework assignments.
These 2 sessions will provide background knowledge to this exciting therapy and point you in the direction of further learning to include this in your practice.
Our presenter is an experienced therapist and life coach who uses this therapy in the work they do; making this of real practical value.

Supervisor: NCS Advanced Specialist
Supervisor: NCS Advanced Specialist
Uniquely this course studies a variety of Supervision theories rather than the one other courses offer, ensuring a depth to your learning that means great value for money
This 60 hour course delivered over 20 weeks is aimed at existing qualified counsellors who adhere to a professional code of ethics.
We will be working to the National Counselling Society Code of Ethics and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy's Ethical Framework for Good practice. If you are a member of any other professional registering body please inform the tutor so that we can make the work we do relevant to you.
Participants will practice and develop supervision skills throughout and will need to supervise at least 1 supervisee during the course to achieve the minimum of 5 supervision sessions of practice as a supervisor that is required to complete

This course will provide you with tools and information that will equip you to be prepared to work with Children and Young People
To participate you need to hold a minimum of a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling (or equivalent); you will have completed a minimum of 100 hours supervised client work and be a member of a registered body
Ideally you will be able to apply the theory learned to working with this client group in a placement alongside the course. Included in the course is the NSPCC Child Protection: An introduction online training; which is required to successfully complete the course
